the story behind these is pretty cool too- Obama is a college freshman in these photos, and another student friend of his taking a photography class asked him to be the subject of some photos for a class project. She released these photos to the news media after he won, in 2008, so the photos couldn’t be used against him politically in some way.

But seriously, how cool would it be to take some photos in college and realize a few decades later that the same kid you took photos of was running for president.
