It’s a special kind of show that not only expects its queer and queer-allied fanbase to be okay with the disintegration of a queer couple in favor of a heterosexual one, but also implies in canon that the “lesbian blogging community” is heterophobic if they aren’t able to support the latter relationship.
I don’t hate the theoretical idea of Sam and Brittany together, but what I do hate are the following things: a) the omnipresent queer/hetero intimacy double standard on this show; b) being told that if I’m not okay with their relationship, I’m a hypocrite who isn’t willing to apply “love is love” to all pairings; and that c) once again, Glee’s writers are spitting violently at the fourth wall rather than meaningfully addressing legitimate concerns.
Brittany’s “love is love” comment? Not true. Love doesn’t equal love when there’s a hierarchy of representation that consistently privileges heterosexuality over queer female relationships. Queer love is not the same as hetero love because queer love rarely gets validated in meaningful ways, on Glee or in other places. It’s bad enough Glee’s saying its queer audience shouldn’t be angry about unequal treatment, but that they’re shaming us using language of equality makes it so much worse.

Brittany being with a guy isn’t lesbian unfriendly.
Brittany being rendered mute when she’s dating a girl and suddenly being able to speak when she’s not dating a girl is lesbian unfriendly.
Brittany kissing her boyfriend isn’t lesbian unfriendly.
The fact that she kisses her boyfriend in the same episode where they get together and oh yeah they also made out when they weren’t even together meanwhile it took a half a season and fans bitching on twitter for her to kiss her girlfriend is lesbian unfriendly.
The fact that the writers fairly easily throw Brittany into another relationship while apparently it’s a miracle for Santana to even find someone to have an “energy exchange” with is lesbian unfriendly.
The fact that even if Santana got a girlfriend I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that they wouldn’t have as many private conversations/duets/kisses/w h a t e v e r as Brittany and her boyfriend is lesbian unfriendly.

brittany is bisexual do you even know what that means???? the fact that you’re saying that it’s anti-lesbian for brittany to be attracted to or be in a relationship with a boy is completely disregarding her identity and if anything you’re the one being anti-bisexual and downright ignorant so no it’s not anti LGBTQ+ because you see that B stands for Bi you fucking idiot
lol the problem is the incredibly terrible double standard in how the respective gay and straight relationships have been handled, not that critics are being offensive to brittany’s bisexual identity oh my god.

Just one piece of evidence of Glee’s double standard, assuming what happens in the promo still airs in the episode Thursday night.
Here’s a link to the chart in HQ. http://i.imgur.com/XRJsu.png
Bless the person who made this. I feel like we need more visual aides for the people that still think that we’re just upset that Brittana broke up.
I will also be creating one for one-on-one dialogue shared. I will publish it after episode 10 airs.

The New Normal is pretty much a show Ryan created so he can show us his reactions to our reactions from this other stupid show he created called Sad .

The thing about a lighthouse is that it looks like a place of refuge, a light in the darkness. It is, in fact, something to guide you on your way. But that’s deceptive. It guides you by warning you to stay the fuck away from it. Because if you sail toward that lighthouse, you’re going to bash your ship against the rocks and drown.
Those times when Glee gets it so fucking right. And only fandom ever notices.

I ship Emma/her backbone SO HARD.
In my Dream!Glee, she tells him off like this then kicks his ass to the curb and runs off with Shannon and Sue for a wild-ass girls weekend in Vegas that turns into them quitting their jobs, moving to Nevada and opening a brothel.
It’s in my head with everything else I’m never going to actually write, I’m sharing it with you.
